Blink Contemporary Art & Design, 1709 Franklin, will be hosting an opening for "Master Class: Artists who have mastered their craft," on July 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The exhibit runs until Oct. 1. According to the gallery, the exhibit is a response to a society that worships youth. It celebrates those artists who have spent a lifetime refining and mastering their skills and whose work has achieved a quiet certainty.
Brideshead Revisited first aired in America in the winter of 1982. I was in art school then, and living with my parents because we couldn’t afford the extra expense of me living on my own. I had never travelled outside my country; I grew up in Chicago and all my ideas about the rest of the world came from reading books. The only thing I had read by Evelyn Waugh was a short story, “The Man Who Liked Dickens”.
